So I took my time and finally finished The Last of Us Part 2 last night. It’s quite an experience so I decided to let it sit with me for awhile before I started putting things into words. First off, I stood by my earlier comment a few post back when I first bought the game, that I don’t like the idea of a company milking a film or video game, producing endless stream of contents that feels less significant each time around. Sequels aren’t necessary unless you have a worthy story to tell, a concern that is fully blown away as I watched the credits roll. The world of The Last of Us is jammed pack with story potential, characters and places waited to be explored, and Part 2 succeeds in telling a poignant, grueling story that proposes the moral repercussions of how we consume media violence, takes us to uncomfortable places, and dares to present dilemmas that challenges both us the players and our tragic heroine, Ellie.
[SPOILER ALERT]
